Top Chef Season Finale!

Stephanie can take the heat! It's over. I'm sad. But glad! Through clever editing the folks at Bravo tried to add drama and intrigue to the finale by making it seem that Lisa might squeak on into the top spot. Other bloggers seem to have found this particular season lackluster in general. For my first time through I really enjoyed it. My roommate picked Stephanie for Top Chef back in Season 1. Word UP! She also liked Richard a lot, who grew on me after a few episodes. I was amazed that he didn't get eliminated after leaving scales on the fish for the judges! He really pulled it together after that. But he did choke in Puerto Rico, and Stephanie continued to shine. When Dale left the pork belly out overnight she didn't chastise him or yell and scream. She focused on an alternative, worked it out with Dale and it ended up being one of the judges favorites. That's Top Chef material.

Way to go, Stephanie. Now let's see what David Dust had to say over at my favorite TC Recap blog:

Sweet Tooth of the Tiger, NYC Food Film Fest, The Picnic Club, Renegade Craft Fair, oh my!

Oh, so many things to discuss and link to!! Let's dive right in:

Friday night Sweet Tooth of the Tiger - 8-10pm at Cinders Gallery 103 Havemeyer Street, Williamsburg, Brooklyn
baked goods + art = pure happiness

This Saturday, June 14, is opening day of the 2nd Annual NYC Food Film Festival! Screenings are free with food from the featured films of the night available for sale along with burgers, dogs, fries and a full bar every night! At the water taxi beach! Hopefully the weather will be decent for most of the screenings, but they do claim to have an enormo tent in case of rain. I will totally be doing this at least one night... I love film, I love food, I especially love free! Here's the link to their site for schedules, directions, etc.

The Picnic Club - Summer Sundays when the weather is nice. Check the blog for updates and rules of conduct. I haven't been yet, but it sounds like a fun time. Now if only it would stop raining on Sundays!

Renegade Craft Fair!!!! - Saturday & Sunday from 11 - 7pm with DJs, food and 200 vendors @ McCarren Park Pool. PLUS - I'll be there Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning helping out the Rock Camp for Girls! booth. Stop by and support a worthy cause - youth empowerment through music!
